My name is Natalie and I. Love. Food.

I’m a cooking enthusiast and, what I like to call, a practical foodie. I like food that is approachable and affordable. While I like the occasional splurge, I also enjoy trying to replicate the more “boujee” recipes at home.

What started back when I was a broke high schooler (scouring the early pages of YouTube to find a molten lava cake recipe and recreations of my favorite dishes from TGI Fridays) has extended to my adult life (attempting to perfect the art of lamb chops, scallops, & crab legs at home.) FACT: you do not need to spend like a king to eat like one.

In 2016, I decided to seriously dedicate myself to the art of Taco Tuesday - hoping, in the process, that I would find the BEST tacos in Chicago. What started as a fun way to spend my Tuesdays found its way onto social media. Suddenly, I became a resource for my friends for restaurant recommendations even outside of the realm of tacos. I was constantly being asked if I kept a list somewhere of places to go (and even meals to make as I started posting about my kitchen attempts as well) and, at the time, I didn’t.

That is why I launched Perk & Provision - my personal list of the best recipes and best restaurants for any occasion - be it splurging or scrimping; cooking an elaborate meal all day or whipping something up in 15 minutes; basking on a patio or holing yourself up in a dive. My goal is that you will never have to worry about your dinner ever again.

After all, life is too short for bad food.
