Guys, I HATE giving bad reviews. I really do. Especially when a place shows as much promise as El Carrito. They thanked me for checking in there on Insta, you guys! Admittedly, I made their food look damn good in my Insta. But I felt especially bad about it because I knew I had to write this review. Which is why I have been putting it off.
I guess I'll start with the good. The restaurant itself is lovely. Well decorated, clean, BYOB and neighboring a liquor store. I walked in and was like... I could hang out here.
Thus ends the pros.
I got a steak taco and a fish taco.
Plainly put: The steak taco was rather flavorless. It's saving grace was the cheese which I had to ask for separately.
I tried the fish taco which I suppose could have been good but it was drenched in their chipotle sauce so I couldn't even taste the fish under that and the coleslaw. Don't get me wrong, the sauce was good, but I think I'm supposed to somewhat taste the fish on the fish taco.
I don't want to go on about it because I feel it's best to let dead horses lie.
