Okay - I've been grocery shopping wrong for my whole life apparently.

This little supermarket in the heart of Back of the Yards doesn't look like much from the outside - and from the inside too, I guess, for that matter. There's just a couple aisles of food items, a small cold section  and an impressive deli, I might add. But the true gem is the small taco grill in the back.

I could tell this place would be good the second I walked in - the cozy counter in the local grocery store was just too perfect to actually exist. Maybe, I was romanticizing it, but whatever. I was pumped. We took a seat and I went up to order for us. We got the steak tacos - no cheese. Trust me, I asked. They don't DO cheese here. Which I mean, FIIINEEEE. Authentic tacos don't normally have cheese and cheese is the most American thing ever but it's also the most amazing thing ever. I let it slide, which turned out to be right because these tacos were DOPE.

They were seasoned perfectly and actually had a bit of char mixed up in there which gave it a great touch. Fellow taco connoisseur and ride or die babe, Sara Seibt, and I took one bite and we were sold. I was so mad at myself for eating a big lunch today because I was only able to finish one. But I took the other home and gobbled it up there.

I honestly would have given these tacos a perfect score if there had been cheese available. But, as it stands, its amazing as is. Seriously, this is kinda WAY out of the way for me and I would 100% come back.

Recommended. Strongly.
